PotisEdge was founded in 2015. The company develops integrated BESS using iCCS (intelligent cell contact system), BMS ( battery management system ) and EMS (energy management system) and offers superior intelligent energy management and storage solutions.
PotisEdge applies the highest possible quality and safety standards. They have been awarded, among others, the IATF 16949 and ISO 26262 ASIL D certifications , which represent the highest functional quality and safety in the automotive industry.
Commercial energy management solutions C&I (commercial and industrial) energy storage is a system primarily designed for commercial and industrial applications such as manufacturing plants, office buildings, schools, hospitals, factories, shopping malls and other mid-sized facilities.
The system consists of batteries combined with an energy conversion system. Compared to home energy storage systems, C&I energy storage systems have much larger capacities because they must handle the much larger energy demands of these facilities.
The main goal of C&I energy storage is to increase the efficiency of energy consumption, reduce electricity costs, provide backup power, and integrate renewable energy sources such as solar and wind.
How a commercial energy storage system works The main operating principle of a commercial and industrial energy storage system is similar to that of a residential system, with one difference, namely the amount of energy that is stored and transmitted.
The system can be powered by electricity from sources such as solar panels or wind turbines, as well as from the grid during periods of lower energy demand (off-peak) when the price usually drops significantly.
The energy is stored in the form of direct current (DC), which is later converted to alternating current (AC) using a power conversion system (PCS) to power appliances and equipment on the premises.
At the head of the operation is the Energy Management System (EMS), which takes care of actively managing the charge and discharge cycles to ensure the best outcome of the system and maximum gain for the user. C&I systems are also commonly used to interact with the utility grid to provide grid services such as frequency regulation or energy arbitrage.
